A vision of how I would design a digital game store if explicitly built for me as a user.
Overview
As a Senior Product Designer and passionate gamer, I wanted to explore how personalization could redefine the online game shopping experience. This concept envisions a store where the homepage dynamically adapts to each user’s preferences—showcasing games, upcoming releases, accessories, and merchandise based on their favourite franchises, genres, themes, and platforms.
Key Features
- Curated recommendations tailored to individual gaming interests.
- Franchise-first browsing for a seamless, immersive shopping journey.
- Integrated merchandise & hardware to complement the gaming experience.
- Cross-platform adaptability, ensuring smooth navigation on any device.

Design Approach
I focused on a dark, modern UI with high-impact visuals that make browsing engaging and intuitive. The dynamic content blocks adapt in real-time, effortlessly helping users discover new titles. A mobile-first approach ensures usability across different devices, making the experience consistent and polished.
The design follows WCAG 2.1 guidelines to ensure an inclusive experience for all users. High contrast and readable typography improve visibility, while full keyboard and screen reader support enhance navigability.

Validation & User Testing
The concept would be tested with diverse gamer personas, including casual and hardcore players across different platforms, to ensure the design meets user needs. Usability testing with interactive prototypes would assess discoverability, engagement, and navigation. A/B testing and analytics would refine recommendations, while iterative improvements would enhance personalization, UI clarity, and accessibility. The goal is to create a seamless, data-driven experience that genuinely resonates with users.
Takeaways
While this is a conceptual project, it reflects my approach to user-centred design, blending strategy, aesthetics, and functionality. By prioritizing personalization, I aimed to create a digital storefront that feels intuitive, engaging, and tailored, enhancing user experience and business impact.
